Veg Fest Bristol

Veg Fest Bristol

So, I had the opportunity to go to the Veg Fest in Bristol yesterday. It was the first time going to an all vegan event and it was so amazing.

I love the fact that I didn't have to ask any of the vendors if it was vegan. Such a refreshing feeling. I also love the fact that I got to go with my girl Sarah who lives in Bristol. She also has a vegan fashion blog named Grandermarnier, which is oh so inspiring. Check it out here

So when we walked in, we were both literally like kids in a candy store. So many choices and not enough time. My eyes were as big as saucers!

First thing that caught our eyes was the Booja Booja ice cream tuk tuk

The queue was so huge we decided to take a walk around the inside and see what goodies we could get our hands on

There was so much to see. It was like a never ending adventure of the senses. Stuff to eat, drink, smell, touch. There were also talks to go and listen to and even a music stage which was epic

The first of the cool and innovative clothing brands we came across was the infamous Viva La Vegan

They not only sell reloved jackets, bags and other clothing items, they also offer these amazing badges that you can add to your own preloved items and relove them yourself. How cool is this one. No doubt you will see me rocking it on one of my little creations very soon - watch this space!

I love that they also sell kids clothes so that your mini me's can build their own little vegan tribes as well

In case you didn't know this about me, I am a handbag fiend! So I was also glad to see that Viva La Vegan create reloved bags, such as this one which was actually used in the war. How amazing that it was used to fight for our country and now it is being used to help fight for the voiceless. So amazing!

Vegan Leather Handbags

There were other handbag brands dotted around such as is these vegan leather handbags and these cute cork bags

We also came across this striking artwork which really broke my heart when I saw it. People don't stop to think that the lamb or veal that is on their plates are someone else's baby. And all though they are not human, does not mean they do not feel the same pain we would if someone took our baby and slaughtered them

After seeing this, I needed a pick me up so we walked around and looked at all of the other vegan clothing stalls that Veg Fest had to offer and came across these beauties

Ethcs

We also came across this cool laid back brand Ethcs, which Brett, one of the owners explained is Ethics without the "I" because it has dropped it's ego. Basically meaning it's not about you or me - it's about all the beings you help when you buy ethical and vegan friendly clothing. Love that

We were so knackered and hungry from all the shopping we had to sit down to eat. We both opted for these delights from Babita's

After replenishing our bellies, we were ready to go on the hunt for more vegan goodies and came across this bamboo toothbrush company Zero Waste Club. I have been looking for a bamboo toothbrush for the longest while and I found them. And also love the fact that they plant another bamboo tree every time you post about them on Insta. Another thing I love is how cute Sarah sounds when she says toothbrush in her Bristolian accent (check my Insta stories to hear it)

After all of the walking around we decided to head back out to the Booja Booja tuk tuk and get some ice cream. Problem is, it was so good, I ate it all before I could think to take a picture of it

But I did manage to get a picture of these beautiful cakes from Elspeth's. We were too full after all the vegan food we ate but they do look gorgeous! Will deffo be placing an order with them very soon
